One of the all time favorite NASCAR drivers has to be Dale Earnhardt. He has won numerous titles and was the first NASCAR driver inducted into the NASCAR Hall of Fame. Earnhardt drew a lot of criticism for not attending all the festivities before the open of the 2001 Daytona 500. However he seemed confidant and ready to turn in a great performance at the event. NASCAR, the second most watched professional sporting event on television in the United States, close behind football, is the largest sanctioning body of stock car races with three major racing series per year as well as many regional and local events.
